Tonight on the finale of Cycle 12, beautiful New Jersey girl Teyona was named America's Next Top Model, narrowly beating out an equally worthy Alison.
The final three also included Aminat, and even though she delivered a believable cover girl commercial, her lack of a great photo and being able to control her face in photos, she was eliminated. In the cover girl commercial, Teyona let her nerves get the best of her and she simply fell apart. Her gorgeous photo combined with her top model performance throughout the season pulled her through, however, and she moved on to the final 2. Alison did a great job on her commercial, and her cover girl photo was fabulous.
On their final runway challenge, the two finalists walked in a Rosa Cha Swimsuit design fashion show in Brazil. Their hair was swept up into a high ponytail and masks were painted on their faces, which made them look fierce. To be honest, I was expecting Alison to bomb it on the runway. So far this season, she has been dreadful on the runway, but when it came to her final performance, she rocked it! She was sexy, cute, and in control. You could really tell that she had practiced a lot, and it really paid off for her. I was really truly proud of her for putting up such a fierce competition. Teyona also looked great on the runway, and even though she could have given it more and let loose a little bit, she really did a great job.
In the end, it was a tough decision for the judges. Alison was by far the most improved and the most original. But Teyona's undeniably gorgeous face and her sweet personality and engaging confidence won them all over. I think she definitely deserved to win, and although I fell in love with Alison, I have no doubt that we will be seeing her again. They both will no doubt enjoy full and successful careers as top models both in America and beyond.
